Artist's Statement

After attending the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Brooks received an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Her art honors the modernist tradition and also tells stories that resonate for our times. Brooks has exhibited widely. She has received several visual arts fellowships from the Somerville Arts Council, most recently in 2025.
