Artist's Statement
I create textile collages under the label of TeeCee Stitchery. Inspired by the quilters of Gee's Bend, my textile collages are contemporary and made through traditional methods of stitching, embroidery, dyeing and more.
Each piece is a one-of-a-kind design and made from old clothes, neglected ties, torn denim, upholstery samples and abandoned fabric. By salvaging these pieces, I take items destined for the landfill and transform them into works of art.
