Artist's Statement
The bird guides me. Along piers, rooftops, and shorelines—spaces shaped by human presence—it moves freely, tracing a path where the built world and the natural world intersect. I am drawn to these fleeting moments, where human and more-than-human life briefly align. Each image captures a small encounter, a reminder that nature and spirit persist within and alongside our daily lives.
This work holds both presence and absence, grief and remembrance. The bird in flight does not resolve loss, but it opens a space for connection, a continuity that endures across distance, time, and memory.
